Analysis and elimination of the causes of electric pressure testing pump equipment failure
The electric pressure testing pump series is specially designed according to the water pressure testing requirements. In the initial stage of the pressure test, it can quickly fill and pressurize to shorten the testing time, with a large flow rate. When the pressure exceeds 1.6MPa (this pressure can be lowered), the flow rate automatically decreases to allow the pressure testing process to proceed more smoothly and slowly. Therefore, this pump has two flow rates at high and low pressures and can switch automatically. Any pressure testing below the rated discharge pressure can be conducted.
The pressure testing pump features a compact structure, reasonable design, labor-saving operation, lightweight, and easy maintenance, greatly improving work efficiency.
Structural Description
The pressure testing pump is driven by a motor through an elastic coupling to a worm gear set. Two eccentric wheels are installed on the worm shaft, which, through the guide and slider, convert the rotary motion into the reciprocating motion of the plunger. Four plungers are connected to the guide, and four water tanks are fixed on both sides of the gearbox to maintain stability in a left-right symmetrical arrangement. The gearbox base is mounted on the water tank, and the lower part of the water tank is equipped with four iron wheels for mobility. The pump interface is equipped with a safety valve, which can adjust the pressure value to 2-3.5Mpa. When the test pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve can automatically open to prevent accidents.
The main features of this machine are its compact structure, stable operation, dust-proof and sealed water tank, large flow rate, ease of use, and suitability for testing low-pressure or high-pressure large container systems and components.
The pressure testing pump system is a non-standard custom-made device, and each customer's industry requirements vary greatly, so the control system of the pressure testing pump will naturally differ. It generally has the following functions: (1) Manual or automatic pressurization function. (2) The pressure testing range can set segmented testing procedures, and during pressurization, the system will automatically increase pressure, stop, and maintain pressure. (3) The system has an automatic unloading function, with automatic unloading of the container, emergency stop, and overpressure automatic unloading functions. (4) The preset holding time during the pressure testing process can be freely set. (5) It has real-time pressure display, curve display, time display, working status display, etc. (6) The system has pressure setting, calibration, and software zero-point correction functions. (7) It has functions for overpressure and fault state feedback. (8) It has the function of automatically determining the holding state of the tested container during the holding phase.
Electric Pressure Testing Pump Operating Procedures
I. Preparation Before Work
1. Add sufficient lubricating oil to the gearbox, making the oil level reach the upper limit of the oil mark or slightly lower. 2. Inject mechanical oil into the transmission boxes on both sides, and the oil level should be slightly higher than the lower guide rail of the crosshead. Long-term continuous use should pay attention to replenishment.
3. Check for any looseness in the fastening bolts.
4. Fill the water tank with clean working medium, and ensure that the filter mesh does not protrude above the water surface. 5. The tested container should be pre-filled with the working medium.
6. The pipeline of the tested container must be properly connected to the water collector working joint.
II. Operating Methods
1. Loosen the red pressure adjustment knob, plug in the power cord to turn on the motor, check if the machine has suction, then turn off the machine and connect the pipes as shown in the figure above; 2. Start the motor, and when water flows out from the return pipe, tighten the pressure relief valve, then slowly turn the pressure adjustment knob down until the reading on the pressure gauge reaches the required pressure, then tighten the locking piece and turn off the machine; 3. Check if the reading on the pressure gauge drops. If the reading does not drop, it indicates that the tested container's pressure resistance is good; otherwise, it indicates that there is a leak inside the container; 4. After completing the work, first loosen the pressure relief valve and the pressure adjustment knob, then sequentially disconnect the various pipes, and then turn on the motor to let the machine run idle for about half a minute to drain the residual water inside the machine; 5. Wipe the surface of the machine clean with a cotton cloth and store it in a cool, dry place for the next use.
III. Precautions
1. The oil temperature in the reducer box should not exceed 80℃.
2. If obvious leakage is found in the pump or other parts during operation, stop the machine immediately and handle it before continuing operation.
3. During the pressurization process, if the pressure gauge needle swings too much, it indicates that the volume of the tested pressure container is insufficient. A pressure container or other energy storage device that meets the family standard should be connected to its system first.
4. If the volume of the tested pressure container is large, continuous operation for pressurization can be performed. When approaching the test pressure, then incrementally pressurize.
5. During operation, closely monitor the system pressure to avoid accidental overpressure.
6. In case of overpressure, immediately open the water release valve, relieve some pressure, and then re-pressurize.
7. This machine uses an open-type motor. During long-term normal operation, the surface temperature of the motor casing can reach 60-70℃, which is a normal phenomenon.
8. There should be a certain distance between the main machine and the water tank to prevent water splashes from entering the motor, causing leakage and burning out the motor.
9. The working liquid used in this machine must be non-corrosive to copper and rubber, non-crystallizing, non-freezing, and the liquid must be clear and free of impurities.
10. It is strictly prohibited to run the machine empty for a long time to prevent reducing its service life.
Analysis and Elimination of Electric Pressure Testing Pump Faults:
1. Pressure cannot be built up.
a. Check if there is debris on the filter mesh; it should be cleaned.
b. Check if the water intake of the water tank is above the liquid level; water should be added appropriately.
c. Check if the switch is tightened.
d. The connecting pipe is not sealed.
e. The one-way valve is not sealed; it should be disassembled and cleaned.
2. Loud noise.
a. The bearing is damaged; the bearing should be replaced.
b. The plunger; the connecting body bushing should be adjusted loose, and turned slightly loose.
C The plunger may be stuck (replace the plunger).
3. Unstable pressure
a. The switch is not fully closed.
b. The connecting pipe is not sealed.
c. The pressure gauge is damaged; repair or replace the pressure gauge.
4. Water cannot be drawn up
a. Invert the motor vertically, loosen the three inner hex screws on part 46, and gently insert a wire or nail into the small hole of part 49 to prevent the steel ball from sticking to part 49.
b. If method a does not solve the problem, remove part 49 and replace the stainless steel ball or small spring.
Pressure pump maintenance guidelines
1. Ensure the lubricant level meets the requirements.
2. Keep it clean. Regularly check the tightness of all connection points and adjust in a timely manner.
3. The pressure regulating valve is strictly prohibited from being adjusted arbitrarily.
4. Ensure smooth liquid intake; the liquid must be clean, and the filter should be cleaned regularly.
5. If the test medium for the pump is water or emulsion and the downtime is prolonged, the liquid should be drained first, and then rust-proof oil or winter mechanical oil should be injected into the pump chamber to prevent rust.
